Dear Reader,
Yesterday I was privileged to teach again at Sweetwater Church in Culleoka, TN.
The word of God is so powerful and simple! It cuts through a lot of crap, doesn’t it?!
We had wonderful fellowship and response, then went to lunch afterward with some great friends. One of those with us at lunch who lives a very public life was sitting with us at the table. While we were at the table eating lunch people kept coming up wanting to take a selfie with her! While she was putting food in her mouth! She handled each one with patience and love but we were so amazed at how thoughtless people can be. She began talking about my message and then she sent something to my phone that I found worth saving.
I wanted to share it with you. In light of scripture, like these in 1 Corinthians 4:6-13 and 2 Corinthians 4:7-15, this graphic clarifies how, when we are moving in the very calling God has given us, that we can often suffer great pain and confusion. That is why knowing the fellowship of the Holy Spirit and listening to Him is so vital. We would despair otherwise!
It’s also why community is so vital. Finding church in taverns, coffee shops, homes, offices, cigar lounges and, yes, even Sunday morning services, is so important! Church, after all, is not where we go it is who we are!
Here is what my friend shared with me:
TAVERN TALKS TUESDAY!
Speaking of community!
Each Tuesday morning at 7am you will find 25-40 men gathered to hear each other’s stories, to encourage one another, to teach scripture and pray together.
This gathering is at The Mission Cigar & Social in Spring Hill.
Tuesday, February 18 Michael Snellenburg shares his story. Many of you know Michael as that tall South African who comes in regularly to enjoy the finest cigars. Michael is blind and needs to be led around the shop. He is a great friend to many of us and full of wisdom. We look forward to hearing from him.
Bring your coffee, your Bible, Febreze if you go to the office after, an open mind and open heart. You can purchase a cigar as well to enjoy your first cigar of the day.
We are really grateful to Mark, Monte and Willie for opening up The Mission early each Tuesday and participating in Tavern Talks!
Hope to see you there!
Looking Up!
Tod Bell
P.S. Life in the fast lane!
