Thanks for being a subscriber to The Three Taverns.
Taverns are places are familiarity, warmth, cheer. The special Jesus-messenger Paul stopped in The Three Taverns on his way to Rome to stand before Caesar in defense of his claim, “There is another King that I obey above all kings.”
He was encouraged and comforted by other believers who traveled the 30 or so miles out of Rome to meet with him as he was on his way into the seat of earthly power.
TAVERN TALKS TUESDAY
We started Taverns Talks in April 2024 to have a place where men can come talk about their relationship with God, to share their stories, to pray together.
We meet together every Tuesday morning at 7am.
The staff and owners at The Mission Cigar and Social have stepped up so much to make this meeting possible. These guys are great. (Unfortunately, Willie was missing from this photo but he has been a hugely important part of our meetings also.)
We all love and appreciate these guys for opening up early and making this a special meeting place for Tavern Talks. And every day making The Mission Cigar and Social a great environment for men and women to gather around a good cigar and a great conversation.
Come join us this Tuesday morning at 7am!
Bring your coffee, your Bible, Febreze if you go to the office after, an open mind and open heart. You can purchase a cigar as well to enjoy your first cigar of the day.
MERRY GENTLEMEN
“God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” goes all the way back to the 1650’s in early versions. It is referenced in “Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens. It was used in various hymn books going back to centuries. The opening lines are a meditation in the absolute victory of Jesus over the forces of death, satan and sin.
While Jesus Christ wasn’t born on what we count as Christmas Day, December 25th, whatever day He WAS born is the beginning of the chess move God began back in the garden when he told Satan that the “seed of the woman would crush” the serpent’s head. Checkmate! It happened through the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ who is now enthroned and given the Name above every name!
God rest you merry, gentlemen

The dollar has lost over 97% of its spending power since 1914.
In 2020-2022 it lost 24% of the value of the remaining 3% of spending power.
Meaning if you had saved $1,000 in 2020 it would purchase $760 worth of goods in 2022.
If you had bought $1,000 worth of silver at its 2020 average of $20.57, in 2022 it would have been worth $1,251.70!.
That's a DIFFERENCE of $491.70!
Silver is now at $31 per ounce, so that $1,000 in silver would now be worth $1,506.91. If saved in dollars? About $720 in spending power of the original $1,000 saved in 2020.
Can you think of a good reason NOT to start saving in gold and silver?
You can start saving silver for less than a daily cup of coffee from Starbucks, or under $100 a month. If you are saving $100 a month in DOLLARS, you are losing. If you are using that same $100 to purchase silver you will win and actually save real money.
Ever since dollars became a fiat currency when it was divorced from gold-backing, the goal ishould be to exchange dollars earned from your work for hard assets that retain value.
Folks, let's be wise and start making a massive change for 2025 in our financial independence from a dying dollar system.
