Dear Reader,
Life is going so fast!
It’s already June, half the year is gone. Every day counts. Maybe today you are supposed to go fishing, relax, think. Maybe tomorrow you are supposed to call up one of your adult kids and go on a date. Maybe the next day you are supposed to take your car in for a repair. But every day is a day to glorify God and pray for how to impact people’s lives pointing them to the goodness of their heavenly Father. This is the only life we get to do that in.
The name of this newsletter is The Three Taverns for a reason. Our brother Paul ended up in Three Taverns, a town on the way to Rome while he was a prisoner. Believers came out to meet him and encourage him. (Acts 28:15) Taverns are connecting places. Any place can be a tavern, any moment can become a holy relational tabernacle. Seek these connecting places out intentionally.
TAVERN TALKS TUESDAYS
Summer is a great time for Tavern Talks because a lot of the guys that do the school runs during the school year can join us! It is awesome to have these guys back with us even if for only a couple of months.
We are going to start hearing from some guys on their second round of sharing. Round one everyone tells their story, where they came from, how their life has taken shape, what has influenced them, how God has encountered them along the way.
Round two will be guys sharing “What God is Teaching Me In My Life Now.”
COMING UP:
June 3- Dave Stovall- My Story
June 10- Jeff Malone- My Story
June 17- Lance Welch- My Story
June 24- John Mathis- What God is Teaching Me
We look forward to every week together.
Tavern Talks is about our stories and God’s story. It’s not about perfect people with perfect stories but authentic working out this salvation in our lives.
Each Tuesday morning at 7am you will find two to three dozen men gathered to hear each other’s stories, to encourage one another, to teach scripture and pray together.
This gathering is at The Mission Cigar & Social in Spring Hill.
Bring your coffee, your Bible, Febreze if you go to the office after, an open mind and open heart. You can purchase a cigar as well to enjoy your first cigar of the day.
We are really grateful to Mark, Monte and Willie for opening up The Mission early each Tuesday and participating in Tavern Talks!
CHRIST IN CULLEOKA
In the month of June we are diving into Seated with Christ; Walking with Christ; Standing with Christ from Ephesians, studying our position in Christ, our walk in this world and our warfare against the Accuser. Join Us!
We looked at the first one, Seated with Christ, on June 1. The message is not posted yet so I can’t put it here but I will send it out when it is ready. I think it will encourage you.
We meet at 11:30am in the Glendale Methodist church building at 1423 Culleoka Hwy, five minutes off of I-65 South. Great time to meet for a relaxed Sunday morning!
Some of you have been looking for a New Covenant group to walk with. We welcome you to walk with us.
Looking Up!
Tod Bell
P.S. Please pass this newsletter along to someone you think would be blessed by it.
