Dear Reader,
It is always an appropriate time to remind ourselves and our world that God is WITH us.
“And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”
All of this occurred to fulfill the Lord’s message through his prophet:
“Look! The virgin will conceive a child!
She will give birth to a son,
and they will call him Immanuel,
which means ‘God is with us.’” (Matthew 1:21-23, NLT)
But this time of year the entire world is singing it:
O come, O come, Immanuel,
and ransom captive Israel
that mourns in lonely exile here
until the Son of God appear.
If God wanted to punish us, to remove Himself from us, He never would have “presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin.” (Romans 3:25)
OUR sins. Not theoretical other people’s sins, but OURS!
Rejoice, rejoice Emmanuel
Has come to thee, o Israel
Rejoice, The Three Taverns readers! Remind each other of this amazing truth, that God is for us, and knowing this, who can be against us! (Romans 8:31)
TAVERN TALKS TUESDAYS
The guys in our group voted to meet on Christmas Eve morning and New Year's Eve morning, so we will hope to see everyone this Tuesday at Tavern Talks at The Mission Cigar & Social at 7am.
Coming up in “Tavern Talks” in 2025 is more open, honest stories, sharing, prayer, encouragement, strength for the journey we are all taking as we stand up with Jesus in this world.
In January we will hear from Michael Houlihan, Adam L’Herault and Tommy Thompson.
Going forward we will continue to enjoy cigars together, opening the scriptures, sharing stories, laughs, and the occasional alien probe joke. (You’d have to be there to know!)
Bring your coffee, your Bible, Febreze if you go to the office after, an open mind and open heart. You can purchase a cigar as well to enjoy your first cigar of the day.
We are really grateful to Mark, Monte and Willie for opening up The Mission early each Tuesday and participating in Tavern Talks!
