In a tavern you talk about life, politics, relationships, what you like to sip on, sports, weather, religion….basically anything that interests you and those around you.
The apostle Paul stopped in a town called The Three Taverns (Acts 28:15) on his way as a prisoner in chains to Rome. He was scheduled to stand in front of the most powerful man in the world, Nero Claudius Caesar, to tell him why he believed there was another king more powerful than Caesar.
While Paul was in The Three Taverns he was met there by other believers in Jesus who came out of the city of Rome to encourage him. That is the purpose of this newsletter, to encourage each of us as we stand up in this culture and declare that we follow another King, not the culture nor the powers of this world.

GONE FISHING
Well, they went and did it.
I have been saying for years that I wanted to find a way to go fishing with all of my boys. But I am notoriously unequipped for any outdoor adventures and know almost nothing about hunting or fishing gear.
So my kids all pitched in and got me a bunch of fishing gear and my boys planned a kidnapping for fishing. We are going this Sunday.
The rod and reel are vintage stuff, with the reel being a 1965 Mitchell. That’s the year I was born!
I am so blessed to have grown kids who love God, love each other and love me. So if you try to reach me on Sunday, I’m gone fishin’!
MARS’ POLAR ICE IS MELTING!
While we are out there, we will be beating the heat, predicted to be mid-90’s. A typical hot Tennessee summer Day. Another thing about us here in The Three Taverns…we are sticklers about the truth.
El Nino is dead.
It will be replaced by La Nina this summer.
That means more severe heat waves are predicted, along with some increased storm activity.
It will be blamed on "climate crisis."
Nope. It's weather that's been happening for centuries.
The decade of the 30's was hotter by far than the current decade.
Politics and THE SCIENCE just exploits our ignorance to advance their money and power schemes.
Did you know the surface heat level of other planets, like Mars and even Pluto, is increasing? Can you blame that on your gas-powered SUV?!

The cost of severe storms in the United States has increased significantly in recent years, and many hucksters and hustlers reflexively pointed the finger at climate change. The real data does not support that claim. Yet this is the crisis of the moment so that more money can be extracted from your pockets, your family, your future in order to line the pockets of others.
If you care to spend time looking at the data, read through this.
Climate activists vandalized Stonehenge in England on Wednesday. Two campaigners from the group Just Stop Oil covered the monolith, which has stood for 5,000 years, in orange powder paint. A spokesperson for English Heritage called the incident “extremely upsetting.”
It’s also confusing. Aren’t these the people who want us to return to the Stone Age?
It seems humans are becoming complete mind-controlled unthinking idiots.
Inoculate yourself and your kids by knowing this....the power structures of this world have one main modus operandi :
1. Create a crisis
2. Monetize the solution
3. Expand institutional power
That explains almost everything the medical, religious and political structures do.
When discussing the last days, as recorded in Mark 13, Jesus made these main points: Do not be deceived, be alert, do not panic, and do not follow false prophets.
These are powerful reasons to stay in the scriptures and in fellowship with like-minded people who will constantly encourage you to not bow the knee to the spirit of the age.
That’s one reason why I am committed to creating moments where people actually meet face to face, to allow for times of formation, not just information.
KYLE ANSON AT “TAVERN TALKS” NEXT TUESDAY
Kyle Anson was a catcher with the New York Yankees for 5 seasons. He was described as one of the more patient batters on the team who retired with more walks than strikeouts. He was also considered one of their best defensive catchers while active on the team.
But Kyle felt another call. He retired at the age of 27 and now he pastors a growing congregation in Culleoka, TN. He has been a regular part of our Tavern Talks group and this week he will share some of his story with us Tuesday morning.
If you are in the Mid-TN area, then you might enjoy Tuesday mornings at 7am joining us for “Tavern Talks.” at The Mission Cigar & Social We've been having 20+ guys each week for the last several weeks...you are welcome even if you don't like cigars! Last Tuesday we had our largest group yet at around 30 guys.
Bring your Bible, a friend, purchase a cigar (not required, we have non-cigar smokers who join us too!), your Febreze if you have to go to the office after, and be ready to participate with honesty, humor, open conversation, challenging looks at truth, all in an accepting atmosphere.
